Reason #397 - Arlington, Texas

Dallas' new roof-ed stadium will host the 2010 NBA All-Star Game, 2011 Super Bowl, and 2014 Final Four. Why? Because it can seat 93,000 comfortable, dry people. Cities like Cleveland have no chance to attract such events when bigger cities, who already have an advantage, close the deal with a roof. A roof on Browns Stadium and/or Progressive Field is our only chance.

Reason #396 - Free Agents Too Expensive

The Yankees reportedly have offered pitcher C.C .Sabathia $140 million for six years. For $100 million, we could have a roof on Progressive Field that lasts 30 years. That's a better deal than a high-priced free agent.

Reason #395 - Fantasy World

Some members of the 3-6 Browns are actually talking about how they just need to play and win one game at a time, and they can still be in playoff contention. But we don't live in a fantasy world. Let's focus on even the remotely possible - like putting a roof on Browns Stadium.

Reason #394 - Baseball Next Season

With the Browns virtually eliminated from respectability contention, I have to think about baseball season. Only five more months until the Indians are back - and playing through the sleet at Progressive Field.

Reason #393 - Brady Quinn

Tonight's Browns' game is Brady Quinn's first career start. He was very successful under the Golden Dome at Notre Dame. Think what a roof in Cleveland could do for him!

Reason #392 - Campaign Slogans

Barack Obama rode "Yes we can" to the presidency. How about if we use "Put a lid on it" for our stadiums? It should be Issue 1 on next year's ballot.

Reason #391 - All-Star Games

The Cowboys' new roof-ed football facility will host the 2010 NBA All-Star Game. Seating capacity will be more than 100,000. Regular arenas that seat 20,000 have no chance anymore, and neither do cities without roof-ed venues. Thank you to faithful reader Steve Weintraub, who's on the ground for me in Texas, for bringing this to my attention.
