Reason #312 - Sabathia's Contract Demands

The Indians have offered C.C. Sabathia approximately $18 million for five years. His agents don't even consider it a serious offer. $90 million would buy a serious roof for Progressive Field.

Reason #311 - Government Oversight

The "steroids in baseball" scandal heads to Capitol Hill for hearings tomorrow. It's too bad that Congress and the leagues have to deal with this problem, rather than creating a raging controversy over domes and roofs covering playing fields. At least this debate would generate some positive publicity.

Reason #310 - Problems at Heinz Field

Pittsburgh's Heinz Field is widely acknowledged as having the worst field surface in the NFL. They recently considered installing artificial turf, but decided not to do so. As far as I know, they never even considered a roof - another way for Cleveland to show its superiority.
