Reason #357 - Low Fan Attendance

Tonight is the winter hat giveaway at the Indians game. Fewer than 20,000 people are in attendance. Obviously, winter clothes promotions don't work, and, furthermore, neither does winter weather to draw fans.

Reason #356 - April Schedule

The Indians' series against the Red Sox and Yankees are coming up before the end of the month. It's not a coincidence - I suspect the team and the league set this up to fill more seats early in the season. Given our weather, they assume we need some special incentive to come to these early-season games. In July and August, I guess even the Rays and Royals will draw a crowd. So that means our weather problems determine our schedule and even our success, which is ridiculous.

Reason #355 - An Anniversary to Remember

This week is the one-year anniversary of the snowstorm that ruined our first Indians homestand of 2007 - 3 games postponed, 3 others played under a comfy roof in Milwaukee. We must never forget, never, or we will let our guard down to those who still don't understand what's at stake here.

Reason #354 - Important Early Games

The big rematch of last year's ALCS with the Red Sox is next week, and the forecast is for snow and rain. Isn't it obvious why Cleveland fans have trouble getting excited about April baseball?

Reason #353 - Winter Hat Giveaway

Saturday April 12's giveaway at the Indians game is a winter hat. Almost two weeks after the season starts, and they're still giving away winter apparel. Maybe that's why they don't want a dome - they'd have to come up with some new promotions.
