Anderson Varejao, when he finally signs with the Cavs or the Charlotte Bobcats, stands to make between $17 million over the next three years, and he thinks he's underpaid - for a guy who averaged 6.8 points and 6.7 rebounds last season. A roof is ALWAYS a better deal than overpaid players.

Reason #248 - Retractable Technology

The Browns play in sunny Phoenix today, in a stadium with a roof. Nothing to fear, it's retractable, just like Cleveland's should be.

Reason #247 - Hannah Montana

Cleveland has no indoor venue that seats more than 21,000 people. With a dome on one of our stadiums, 60,000 people could get to see the hottest concerts. All the best groups would make Cleveland one of their first stops.

Reason #246 - Injuries

Even LeBron James, probably one of the most well-conditioned athletes ever, can be injured. Something like a sprained finger can make an entire community, even league, jittery. That's the beauty of domes - they have very low injury rates, unless hit by an extreme hail storm, in which case I'd still rather have the hail hit our dome than our multimillion-dollar athletes.

Reason #245 - Even Spring Football Is Under Cover

Cleveland's Arena Football League team has been officially named the Gladiators. Yes, they play indoors - during the spring, arguably the best weather season we have here.

Reason #244 - High School Football State Finals

The high school football state finals are this weekend, in Canton and Massillon. Unless we have a dome on Cleveland Browns Stadium, Cleveland will never have a chance to host such a meaningful, local event - the entire state would get to see Cleveland in a whole new light.

Reason #243 - Steelers Deserve Worse

The Steelers won 3-0 last night, in one of the worst NFL games in years. The field conditions were horrible, due to hard rain after four high school games and a college game. Such conditions may be good enough for the Steelers, but not our Browns.
