Reason #132 - Stadiums Everywhere

Yesterday’s Plain Dealer reported that Northeast Ohio has spent more than $680 million on sports venues since 1994, and the only one with a roof is the basketball arena. And there’s another $250 million worth of projects in the planning stages – including $165 million for a 25,000-seat stadium for major league soccer (soccer!?!). Is this the worst example of civic planning ever? For that amount, we could put roofs on both Jacobs Field and Browns Stadium.
