Reason #233 - Instead of Overpaying A-Rod
Now we find out that Alex Rodriguez opted out of his $25 million-a-year contract with the Yankees so he could negotiate for $27 million a year for 10 years. In New York, maybe that's what it takes to get a third baseman. In Cleveland, we could have two roofs for $275 million and still have $75 million or so to spare to fix the schools, streets, public transit. If we had the money to start with, which, of course, we might have if we had year-'round sports facilities. That's what I call a vicious cycle.
