For 20 years now, I have been saying to myself that Cleveland needs a dome/retractable roof for all-weather sports and entertainment. It probably won't happen for years or decades, but someday, the powers that be will get it right. And, when they do, April 13, 2007, the date this blog was started, will be celebrated as Dome Day. There are probably hundreds, thousands, of reasons that Cleveland needs a dome and I plan to keep adding to my list until the dome comes home.
Good seats?
This was the scene at Indians home opener weekend in April 2007. Let's agree that this should never be allowed to happen again.

What you need is a good hard BONK on the dome to knock some sense into you. What Cleveland needs are team owners who spend some money. I don't care a whit if as a business they lose their shirt. They have it to lose. If you pay to put a great team on the field, fans will come out in 27 below zero and 13 feet of snow to cheer them on. And remember, dome wasn't built in a day.
But what if they never pay to put a great team on the field? Decent weather is a sure thing with a roof. Great team is not a sure thing no matter how much they spend.
